Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb chicken feet cleaned and nails trimmed
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/2 tsp black peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp sugar optional
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil for frying optional

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Prepare the Chicken Feet
  • Clean the chicken feet by trimming off the nails and washing thoroughly.
  • Optionally, blanch the chicken feet in boiling water for about 5 minutes to remove impurities, then drain.
  • Step 2: Marinate the Chicken Feet
  • In a bowl, combine soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and bay leaves.
  • Add the cleaned chicken feet, cover, and marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight in the fridge for best flavor).
  • Step 3: Sauté the Aromatics
  • Heat oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat.
  • Add onion and sauté until soft and aromatic.
  • Add garlic and sauté for another minute.
  • Step 4: Simmer the Chicken Feet
  • Add the marinated chicken feet along with the marinade to the skillet.
  • Pour in water, add bay leaves, and season with black peppercorns and salt to taste.
  • Stir everything and bring it to a boil.
  • Lower the heat and let it simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour until the chicken feet are tender and the sauce is thickened.
  • Step 5: Fry the Chicken Feet (Optional)
  • For extra flavor and crispiness, heat oil in another pan and fry the marinated chicken feet until golden brown before simmering.
  • This adds a crunchy texture to the chicken feet that many enjoy.
  • Step 6: Final Touches
  • Add sugar if you want to balance the acidity of the vinegar (optional).
  • Stir well and allow the sauce to reduce further, if desired.
